Sarah here. I am excited to get this blog up and running. I hope you enjoy reading as much as I enjoy writing for you all! Turkey day is just around the corner. It's usually the time that we all indulge! I know I have a hard time saying no to another serving of pie or turkey. Don't even get me started on mashed potatoes. I am so guilty! I keep telling myself it's a holiday and I am allowed to splurge. I just hate that "I can't get off the couch for a week" feeling. This year is going to be different; I have a post-Thanksgiving DETOX plan! I will be taking full advantage of our infrared sauna and body wraps. If you haven't done either, you are missing out.
Our bodies are the unfortunate collectors of hundreds of the 80,000 chemicals and metals currently in use in our air, water, food, cosmetics and soil. The best way to eliminate metals and chemicals is through SWEAT. A 30-minute session in our sauna has been documented to burn 300 to 600 calories! How many other ways can you sit still and read a book and burn as many calories as you would in a 45-minute jog?
In August 1981, the Journal of the American Medical Association (AMA) stated, “Many of us who run do so to place a demand on our cardiovascular system, not to build leg muscles. Regular use of a sauna imparts a similar stress on the cardiovascular system, and its regular use may be as effective a means of cardiovascular conditioning and burning calories as regular exercise.” Yes, you read that right. You can sit and burn calories! That sounds good to me.
I LOVE to follow up my sauna sessions with the Baltic Sea Mud Wrap or the Firmi-Sea Seaweed Wrap. Body treatments like these are centuries-old treatments for detoxification. They have such awesome health benefits. Just to name a few: they absorb impurities, remove toxins, and help maintain healthy metabolism. Not to mention your skin will be so soft and glowing afterward. Here's another little tip: schedule a sugar scrub before your Versa spray tan. You will thank me later!
I am going to give you a breakdown of my 4-week detox plan, and I hope you come in and follow it, too!
Week 1: 1 weight loss sauna session, followed by Baltic Sea Mud Wrap
Week 2: 1 weight loss sauna session
Week 3: 1 weight loss sauna session, followed by the Firmi-Sea Seaweed Wrap
Week 4: 1 weight loss sauna session, followed by a 60 minute Swedish massage
