Almost anyone is a good candidate for a chemical peel. We offer a variety of chemical peels custom-matched to meet your skin care concerns. Our peels are designed to improve the texture and appearance of your skin, revealing a more youthful and radiant complexion. We also offer chemical peels that are good treatment options for our clients who suffer from acne or rosacea. There are a variety of contraindications such as Accutane use within the last year, herpes outbreaks, or plastic surgery within the last 3 months. A full medical history will be taken prior to your peel to make sure this is a safe treatment for you.
Chemical peels use a chemical solution to improve and smooth the texture of skin. This is done by removing the outer damaged layer of skin. We offer a variety of peels with ingredients designed to meet different skin care needs.
Prior to your treatment you may be asked to avoid certain treatments and products. This will be determined during your initial consultation. You will also need to stay out of the sun. We will have to reschedule your treatment if you arrive with a sunburn. It is also a good idea to be on a good skin care regimen prior to receiving your chemical peel. Our skin care consultants can make product recommendations during your consultation. Be sure to ask about our complimentary VISIA Complexion Analysis. This will allow you to track the positive changes you will see in your skin!
You can expect your treatment to last approximately 30 minutes. Your face will be cleansed and the peel applied. You may feel a tingling sensation while the peel sets. After your peel you will have a masque applied along with a moisturizer and sunscreen. It is highly recommended that you maintain your results with our post peel skin regimen.
Superficial peels are gentle enough to be used once a week until desired results are achieved. Results are cumulative and maximum benefits are seen with a series of 3 or more peels. We offer initial series in group packages of 3 or 6 treatments. Maintenance packages are also available.
Most patients will leave the office looking healthy and refreshed. Any redness or discoloration can easily be covered with makeup and most activities can be resumed right away. Depending on which peel was performed, a mild flaking may occur, which can be controlled with your post procedural product. Extra precaution must be taken to avoid sun exposure following the peel. You will be required to use a broad spectrum NON-CHEMICAL sun block with an SPF of 20 or higher. Be sure to bring your sunscreen to your appointment to make sure it will not irritate your skin. You will need to limit sun exposure at least one week after your peel. Strenuous exercise should also be avoided for 2-3 days due to increased skin irritation caused by perspiration.
Chemical peels are part of a skin maintenance plan. You will need to repeat treatments every 1 to 3 months to maintain the results. Committing to a good home skin care regimen and avoiding sun exposure will help prolong your results.
